My friend Carole said most of it but I would like to comment on Sarah’s infinite patience, imagination and cake making.
I came back full of ideas and have passed on tips to my partner who was inspired to use one of Sarah’s techniques and produced a masterpiece!
I too would love to do another workshop with Sarah.
Sarah’s workshops are inspiring, relaxing and most of all great fun. The watercolours are as vibrant and lovely as Sarah herself who is a natural teacher to even the most nervous pupil. She makes it look so easy and breaks things down to simple shapes which gives you confidence to really have a go and produce your own individual pictures. I have been doing workshops for three years now and have met some lovely people to chat to over the delicious lunch. I can’t wait to get to the next workshop.
What a fun time my daughter Tilly had with my Dad at the watercolours workshop. Really enjoyed mixing paints to create colours and gave her confidence in her own abilities! She produced some great, colourful pictures that she was very proud of and it was a lovely environment in which my Dad could enjoy something different with her. Plus the cake I hear was wonderful. Definately love to do it again!
I attended Sarah Bell’s workshop on “Sea, Sky and Boats”. Her expertise is stunning and she is able to solve every student’s difficulty with clear, immediate, technical advice. She knows watercolour from every angle, adhering to time honoured classical principles that are, without a doubt, of the highest Professorial standard. Her demonstrations are frequent, hugely useful, and technically perfect. Whether one is a professional, a beginner, an amateur or merely keen to know what the Great British …

Such a lovely way to spend an afternoon! This refresher was just what I needed to inspire me once again – I left on Tuesday afternoon with real determination to start creating my own masterpieces! Thank you for your inspirational teaching and I look forward to coming along to another workshops soon!
Recently attended the one day beginners workshop. Slightly apprehensive as never painted since my school days and am not at all artistic. It was really interesting and has given me a good insight into the watercolour world. Sarah is so easy to listen to and inspires you with her passion for painting.
A bit late, but the Magic of Watercolours was a really fun day with lots of painting and ideas that were new to me. Using quite cheap paints, pastels and bits of card the effects were quite stunning. As ever, Sarah builds such confidence that ‘having a go’ just seems normal. Lovely group and lunch, mmmmm. I’m looking forward to the next one.
I went to the drawing workshop yesterday and enjoyed it immensely. I had tried to draw but found that I had lost all of the skill I had built up many years ago. However just during this one day workshop I was amazed at how much was achieved and really proud of the drawings I took home. Thank you Sarah for a really great day and I now feel inspired with more confidence to practice more.
What a great day! Although not advertised as such I think ” The Magic of Watercolours” would also inspire the beginner… as much as broaden the scope of more experienced artists. This was my third workshop with Sarah ( which must say something!)…..and my favourite so far! I love her style of teaching, encouraging , fun and very important for me ….. what I learn is useful!
Thank you Sarah for such a relaxing couple of hours at the watercolour taster session at Torbay Hospital last month. I hadn’t done any painting at all since I left school in 1986 so I was feeling a bit daunted. However, you soon put everyone at ease, and with your relaxed and inspiring style of teaching you soon made everyone feel confident enough to give it a go. The £304 raised for the Intensive Care Unit and Louisa Cary Children’s Ward was an amazing achievement also, well done! I am now very…
